Be Courageous: Encourage Others with God’s Word

Mark 5:19:
“Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.’”

Mark 5:34:
“He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’”

Mark 5:36:
“Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.’”

Mark 5:41:
“Talitha koum!” (which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).

TL;DR: Be bold in Jesus! Speak His Word with courage, encourage others, and trust in His power. Faith and scripture bring healing, strength, and victory!

Today is my biggest and final race of the week—the Official American Birkenbien in its original form. Earlier this week, I completed the Open Track event, and it’s been an incredible time of racing, fellowship, and encouragement with friends, family, and my brothers and sisters in Christ.

One of my favorite things to do is be bold in Jesus.

Yesterday, as I neared the end of my 29K race, I was exhausted. But I chose to encourage a fellow skier with scripture. A nearby skier overheard and encouraged me back with scripture, reminding me to fly on eagles’ wings!

Mark 5 is filled with powerful moments of faith, healing, and courage.

Jesus tells the healed man to go and testify of God’s mercy.
He reminds the woman who had suffered for 12 years that her faith has made her well.
He tells Jairus not to be afraid but to believe.
He speaks life to a little girl, saying, “Get up!”

What if we lived with that same boldness today?

Be encouraged! Use scripture to uplift others. Share the Word of God with courage. You never know whose life you will impact.

Be bold. Be courageous. And trust in the power of Jesus!
