Colossians 2:6-7
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
TL;DR: Holy Week is not just a moment on the calendar—it’s a reminder of the deep sacrifice Jesus made for us. Let the reverence of Easter shape your everyday life by living rooted in gratitude, not guilt, and grounded in the truth of what He accomplished on the cross.
Happy Resurrection weekend! What a powerful time to remember the greatest turning point in history—when Jesus conquered death and made a way for us to live forever in Him.
I try to slow down during Holy Week. I take time to reflect—not out of obligation, but because I need the reminder. I need to remember that my sin wasn’t just wiped away quietly—it was paid for, fully and painfully, by the blood of Jesus Christ.
And that changes everything.
Holy Week reminds me that just because the world says, “That’s not a big deal,” or “Everyone does that,” doesn’t mean sin loses its weight.
Sin is still sin. And when I start minimizing it, it’s a sign my heart is beginning to harden.
But here’s the Good News—the very reason Easter exists:
We are not the sum of our sins.
We have been set free by the powerful gift of Jesus.
His resurrection means that we are no longer defined by our past, no longer bound by our guilt, and no longer buried by shame.
Through Jesus, we are made new, again and again.
He conquered the grave so that we could rise with Him—every single day.
Even if you fall (and we all do), God’s love lifts you. His mercy calls you to try, try again. That is grace. That is Easter. That is a reason to overflow with thankfulness.
So today, even though Holy Week has passed on the calendar, keep it alive in your heart.
Let it shape your Monday morning, your midweek, your weekend.
Start today and every day in awe of what Jesus has done—and let your life be rooted in that truth.
