Psalm 51:10–12
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”Isaiah 62:5
“As a young man marries a maiden, so your sons will marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.”
TL;DR:
No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, God rejoices over you. Through Jesus, your sins are forgiven, your heart is renewed, and you are deeply loved—just as you are.
When I read Isaiah 62, I was overwhelmed by this truth: God rejoices over me—and He rejoices over you, too!
It’s hard to comprehend. I see the depravity of my own heart. I see my lack of faith, my moments of doubt, and the many ways I fall short. Yet Jesus steps in and changes everything. He takes away my unworthiness and replaces it with His righteousness.
Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we are no longer defined by our mistakes. We are defined by His love. We are the righteousness of Christ—fully forgiven, fully known, and fully loved.
It’s difficult to grasp how the Creator of the universe could delight in us, but Scripture says He does! Just as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, God rejoices over His children.
Today, let’s ask Him to “restore to us the joy of His salvation” and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Let’s live loved, walk in joy, and remember that through Jesus, we always get a fresh start.
Be inspired to live loved today—He rejoices over you!
