Lamentations 3:25–26
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
TL;DR:
Even when life feels uncertain or painful, God has us exactly where He wants us. Waiting quietly means waiting with full trust—knowing He is good, He is working, and He is near.
This morning, I’m headed into surgery to clean out an infection in my leg—the same leg that’s been healing from a break for almost ten weeks. The infection has lingered for seven of those weeks, and now my new team of doctors feels it’s necessary to open it back up, clean it out, and culture it.
Honestly, I’m tempted to feel discouraged. Surgery isn’t what I wanted. Pain isn’t what I hoped for. But my hope is not in the doctors—my hope is in the Lord.
The verse from Lamentations 3 reminds me that “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him.” Waiting quietly doesn’t mean waiting passively—it means waiting in complete trust, resting in the truth that God knows exactly what I need and is already working for my good.
Even though I wish I were somewhere else—doing something else—I believe with all my heart that God has me right where He wants me. And He has you right where He wants you, too.
Please pray for my surgery today—for my orthopedic team and for complete healing. And if you’re in a season of uncertainty or pain, know this: God hasn’t forgotten you. He is attentive to every prayer, every tear, and every need.
He has us—fully, lovingly, and completely. ❤️
