Is Your Hope in What You Want—or in What God Has Planned?

Ephesians 1:11–12
“In Him you were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that you… might be for the praise of His glory.”

TL;DR:

You lose your peace when your hope rests in your plans. You gain peace when your hope rests in God’s plan.

When you place your hope in the outcome you want, anxiety rises. You wait nervously, fearing disappointment, trying to manage circumstances you can’t actually control. But when your hope is in Christ alone, you rest differently—you trust that God is working everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.

You already see this truth in your life. You remember the days you prayed for the things you now have. Many of those prayers were answered—but not in your timing, and not always in the way you expected. Yet they were answered better than you imagined, because He was shaping them for your good and His glory.

So why carry anxiety today?

God sees what you can’t.
He knows the forest when you only see trees.
He has a plan, and it’s already in motion.

When you shift your hope from “I hope this goes my way” to “I hope in the Lord alone,” you step out of fear and into peace. His plan cannot fail. His purpose cannot be stopped. His timing cannot be rushed.

Is your hope in what you want—or in what God has planned?
Choose the second… and rest.
