Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Jeremiah 29:19
“For they have not listened to my words,” declares the Lord…
TL;DR:
God’s plans are good, but you can’t experience His peace when you refuse to listen and keep clinging to your own thoughts.
Last night I found myself tossing and turning over the same situation I still can’t control. The looping thoughts wouldn’t stop. I told myself I trusted God—yet moments later I was rehearsing the same worries again. That’s not trust. That’s fear dressed up as faith.
As I lay there, Jeremiah 29:11 kept rising in my mind. But so did the conviction of verse 19: “You have not listened.”
That hit me hard.
I read the whole chapter this morning, and God made something clear:
I keep hearing His Word, but I don’t always do it. That’s why the anxiety stays. James 1:22–24 says the same thing—don’t just hear the Word, do what it says.
If He has plans to prosper you…
If He has plans to give you hope and a future…
If He declares that His way is good…
Then your job isn’t to solve everything—it’s to listen.
If you’re anxious today, go to Scripture and ask,
“What does God say about this exact situation?”
Then live like you actually believe Him.
His plan is already in motion.
Don’t get in His way by insisting on yours.
