Proverbs 26:11
“As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.”Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
TL;DR:
If you keep doing the same thing while hoping for a different outcome, you’re stuck in a cycle God wants to break—start your “fresh start” today.
As a new year approaches, you may find yourself longing for change while repeating the same patterns of thinking and behavior. Proverbs tells you plainly: a fool repeats his folly. AA echoes this with its definition of insanity—doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.
But you don’t have to wait for January 1st to start fresh. Your new beginning can start right now.
You already know the areas where you feel stuck. You know the habits, sinful patterns, or emotional reactions you want to change yet keep repeating. God is doing a new thing inside you, but you must choose to stop returning to what harms you.
Change starts with recognizing the first thought—the spark that leads you back into the same cycle. Capture it. Replace it.
If you’re battling lust, replace that first thought with love for God.
If you’re trying to fill emptiness with food, replace it with God’s presence.
If anger, hatred, or resentment rise up, replace them with forgiveness and grace.
If you feel defeated and tempted to give up, fill your mind with the truth:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13
Today you don’t need a resolution—you need a replacement.
Don’t repeat the patterns that kept you stuck in 2023.
Stop. Start over. Think new. Act new. Live new through the powerful gift of Jesus.
Happy New Year.
Happy new day.
Happy new moment.
Happy new life.
