Proverbs 2:4–5
“…if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
TL;DR:
You find God’s wisdom when you chase it with the same passion, effort, and value you would give to buried treasure.
Are you seeking God’s Word like it’s treasure?
Proverbs tells you plainly—wisdom doesn’t fall into your lap. You search for it. You pursue it. You dig for it the way you’d dig for silver or gold.
But many days, it’s easy to treat the Bible casually, skimming a verse and rushing back to the world’s noise and the world’s wisdom—wisdom that never satisfies.
Treasure, by contrast, takes effort.
You don’t stumble upon silver.
You intentionally go looking for it.
God invites you into that kind of pursuit.
When you open Scripture with expectation—believing there is treasure in every verse—your heart becomes teachable. Your mind becomes renewed. Your life becomes aligned with His ways.
This year, ask yourself:
Where will your treasure be?
In the world’s opinions, or in God’s unshakable truth?
Seek Him like silver, and you will find the knowledge of God.
