Matthew 18:2–4
“He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.”
TL;DR:
Childlike humility is the gateway to peace—trusting God without overthinking, resisting, or trying to control.
Jesus calls you to become like a little child—humble, trusting, surrendered.
A child doesn’t overanalyze. A child doesn’t manipulate outcomes. A child simply trusts the one who loves them.
True humility is accepting what you cannot change and trusting that God is working His will, even when you don’t understand it. Pride says, “I can fix this.”
Humility says, “God, I trust You with this.”
When you stop wrestling and start resting, peace emerges.
When you stop trying to force your way and align your desires with His, anxiety fades.
When you let go of control, you finally receive the childlike joy and freedom Jesus promises.
Pray with a humble heart:
Dear God, help me want what You want for me. Help me trust You completely with a childlike faith. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
