1 Thessalonians 5:15–18
“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
TL;DR:
Joy is not a feeling that comes and goes—it’s a choice to let God’s peace rule your heart in every circumstance.
You live in a world that constantly reacts—wrong for wrong, anxiety for uncertainty, fear for the unknown. God calls you to a different way. You are invited to let His peace and joy rule your heart, not just when life feels good, but in all situations and with all people.
Happiness is fleeting. It depends on circumstances, outcomes, and moods. Joy is deeper. Joy is a way of living that flows from trusting God completely. When you choose joy, you are choosing to believe that God is present, active, and good—even when things are hard.
Jesus offers you a peace the world cannot give. It doesn’t rely on control, comfort, or clarity. It rests in trust. When you pray continually, give thanks intentionally, and choose kindness even when it’s undeserved, you are actively putting on your faith.
Today, take His peace and joy with you into every thought, every word, and every action. Let them rule your heart. This is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
