Jeremiah 29:11, 19
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”“…For they have not listened to my words,” declares the Lord, “words that I sent them again and again…”
TL;DR:
God has good plans for you—but you experience them fully when you listen and obey.
God promises hope and a future. He promises purpose. He promises provision.
But in the same chapter, He points out something sobering: His people did not listen.
You can quote Jeremiah 29:11 with confidence, yet quietly ignore the voice of God in your daily life. You can desire His promises while resisting His direction.
Many times you miss peace, not because God failed to provide it, but because you failed to follow it. Love does not reward disobedience. A good Father corrects. He guides. He speaks again and again.
When you open Scripture, what is He nudging you about?
Is He calling you to forgive?
To let go of pride?
To walk away from something unhealthy?
To step forward in faith?
Listening requires humility. Obedience requires trust.
You may think you have a better plan. You may feel your timing is smarter. But His plans are rooted in eternal perspective. Yours are limited to what you can see.
Today, pause and ask yourself:
Are you truly listening?
And if you hear Him, will you obey?
His plans are good. His direction is trustworthy. Your peace begins when your heart says, “Yes, Lord.”
