John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
tl;dr
Jesus offers a full and abundant life, while the enemy seeks to steal peace. When anxiety takes over, it may be time to refocus on Christ and His priorities.
Are you living life to the full?
Jesus said He came so that we may have life, and have it to the full. Yet there have been seasons in my life when I was anything but full of life.
I used to be consumed with worry, fear, and a deep anxiety that would not leave. Looking back, I can see that much of that anxiety came from chasing things God did not want me to have. I was pursuing my plans, my desires, and my timeline instead of trusting His.
Jesus also said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
That verse causes me to pause whenever life feels overwhelmingly heavy.
When my burdens become too much to carry, I have learned to STOP and reevaluate who or what I am chasing. Am I pursuing Jesus and His will, or am I pursuing things that are pulling me away from Him?
Usually, when I am full of anxiety, I have filled my mind and heart with things that do not bring life. The thief wants to steal peace, joy, and trust. Jesus offers peace, purpose, and abundant life.
The difference is found in where the focus is placed.
Today, if burdens feel heavy, take a moment to pause and look up. Ask God to reveal what is driving the anxiety and what needs to be surrendered.
Jesus came to give life to the full.
May there be a choice today to put Him first and walk in His peace.
