Philippians 1:14
“Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.”Romans 8:18
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”Philippians 4:13
“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
tl;dr
Faithfully persevering through life’s trials encourages others to trust God more deeply. Your testimony can strengthen someone else’s faith.
One of my dearest friends and sisters in Jesus has walked through many, many trials. Through every hardship, she has continued to cling to her faith. One of her life verses is Romans 8:18:
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
Her testimony inspires me. Watching her persevere through suffering while holding tightly to Jesus encourages me to do the same.
That is exactly what Paul is describing in Philippians. His imprisonment did not silence the Gospel. Instead, it gave other believers courage to speak the Word of God more boldly and fearlessly.
Our lives are always telling a story.
Is your testimony one of faith or one of fear?
None of us chooses the trials we face, but we do choose where we place our trust. When we continue to trust God in the middle of hardship, others see His faithfulness at work in us. Our perseverance can become the encouragement someone else needs to keep going.
Whatever battle you are facing today, put on the full armor of God and stand firm. Trust that He is with you in the struggle and that He will give you the strength you need for today.
“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
May your life be a testimony of faith that points others to the powerful gift of Jesus.
