When you walk in God’s ways and in His mercy, you are free. When your heart’s desire and your actions are focused on doing His will, you are not plagued by the guilt and shame of your sinfulness. Even when you fall, you are still free. That is the beauty of finding your identity in Christ rather than in your sin.
This is what true freedom through faith looks like. It is not freedom to do whatever you want. It is freedom to keep walking in everything He has created you to be, without the weight of condemnation pulling you down.
We have a great nation because we have a great God. We have a great nation because we have great citizens who honor Him. As John 8:36 reminds us, “He who the Son sets free is free indeed!”
Living in God’s freedom is not a one-time decision. It is a daily choice to lean into His grace, extend mercy to others, and trust that His ways lead to a life worth living. Walking in God’s mercy changes not only how you see yourself but how you treat the people around you. Mercy triumphs over judgment, and that truth is as countercultural today as it has ever been.
We are an independent republic precisely because we are dependent on God. That dependence is not weakness. It is the very foundation of spiritual freedom in Christ and the source of everything good in our lives and in this nation.
