Ephesians 5:18 “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.”
TL;DR: Taking personal responsibility for your actions is a critical step toward emotional healing. When you stop blaming others and ask God to fill you with His Spirit, you gain the clarity to repent, grow, and try again.
When I was a drinker, I was filled with a spirit of blaming others for my mistakes. I lacked the ability to take responsibility for my own actions and get well. The truth is, taking personal responsibility is one of the hardest but most necessary steps any of us can take.
In order for any of us to experience real emotional healing, we need to take ownership of our part in things, repent, and try, try again. That cycle of owning your mistakes and starting over is not weakness. It is exactly where growth begins.
Personally, I ask the Lord to fill me with His Spirit so I can see clearly what He needs me to do. When I stop pointing fingers and get quiet before God, that is when healing through faith actually becomes possible. The Holy Spirit has a way of bringing clarity that nothing else can.
If you are carrying the weight of blame today, whether toward yourself or someone else, I hope this encourages you to take ownership of your actions, bring it to God, and keep moving forward. Emotional and spiritual growth is always worth the effort.
Own it.
