Proverbs 14:30
“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”
TL;DR:
Peace flows from trusting God’s plan. Envy grows from believing you know better. Choose trust, and you choose life.
What a powerful picture: peace gives life, envy rots from the inside out.
A heart at peace is not a heart that got everything it wanted. It is a heart that fully trusts Jesus has you exactly where you need to be—even if it looks nothing like what you planned.
Peace says, “God, I trust You.”
Envy says, “I know better.”
Envy isn’t just wanting what someone else has. It’s quietly wishing your life looked different than what God has allowed. It’s comparing, measuring, resenting. And slowly, it drains your joy.
Envy is rooted in pride—the belief that your timeline, your desires, your outcomes would be superior to God’s design.
But humility brings peace.
When you accept that God’s plan is perfect—even when it’s uncomfortable—you stop striving and start resting. Your body feels it. Your mind feels it. Your relationships feel it.
Peace strengthens.
Envy corrodes.
Today, if comparison tries to creep in, stop it at the door. Thank God for what is. Thank Him even for what isn’t. Trust that what He has given—and what He has withheld—is part of a greater plan.
To be healthy and well, choose peace. Choose trust. Choose humility.
A heart at peace truly gives life to the body.
