Proverbs 15:9–10, 31
“The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.
He who listens to life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.”
TL;DR:
God’s discipline isn’t punishment—it’s loving correction meant to redirect you back to life, wisdom, and righteousness.
You may be in a season where God is disciplining you—not with physical pain, but with conviction, correction, and holy discomfort. You can feel it when worldly desires begin to crowd out holy ones. You can see it when pride starts telling God what you want instead of humility teaching you to want what He wants for you.
When correction comes—especially through someone you trust—it can sting. But that sting is life-giving. God disciplines those He loves, and His rebuke is meant to wake you up, not tear you down. Listening to correction is a sign of wisdom, not weakness.
You may notice consequences unfolding from choices you’ve made. Instead of resenting them, pause and ask: Is God trying to get my attention? Correction pain is different from punishment—it points you back to the right path.
Now is the moment to pursue God’s direction with the same intensity you may have pursued your own way. If you’re feeling convicted, don’t harden your heart. Lean in. Listen. Adjust. This is how wisdom grows and righteousness takes root.
