Be Brave and Do It Now: Overcoming Procrastination with Faith and Courage

Proverbs 20:4 “A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks and finds nothing.”

TL;DR: Procrastination robs you of the rewards waiting on the other side of obedience. Whatever God is calling you to do, now is the time to be brave, take action, and trust Him with the outcome.

Do what’s right at the right time. It sounds simple, but overcoming procrastination is one of the hardest things to actually live out. It is so easy to say, “I’ll deal with that later,” or “I’m just not ready yet.” But what we put off today has a way of biting us tomorrow.

That verse from Proverbs is a real gut-check. When we act like a sluggard, we miss the harvest. The work doesn’t get done, and when the time comes to reap the rewards, there is nothing there. Avoiding procrastination in your faith walk means showing up, doing the hard thing, and trusting that God’s timing is always right.

Be strong and courageous. Attack what you need to do, no matter how difficult it feels. Acting in faith over fear is not always comfortable, but walking in fear is exactly what keeps us stuck. Fear is one of the biggest reasons we stall, avoid, and delay the very things God is asking us to move on.

Whatever God is calling you to do right now, be brave and do it. Not next week. Not when things settle down. Now. Taking courageous action in the season you are in is how you set yourself up for the harvest God has planned for you. You were not made to be a sluggard. You were made for more than that.

So whatever it is, big or small, go do it.
