1 Peter 2:24-25
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
TL;DR:
Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are healed and freed from sin’s grip. Don’t let shame define you—shake it off, repent, and keep walking with the Shepherd who oversees your soul.
When I first truly trusted that I was forgiven, that my sins were gone and forgotten, I felt beautiful. For the first time, I wasn’t weighed down by guilt. I lifted my head, straightened my shoulders, and lived free because I was washed clean by the blood of Jesus.
Then reality hit—I sinned again. And with it came the temptation to pick back up the shame and guilt I had laid down. This is the cycle many of us know so well. But here’s the truth: Jesus suffered and died to free us from the bondage of sin.
Yes, we still stumble. But every single time, His grace covers us. Every single time, His sacrifice remains enough. He paid for all sin—yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
So when you fall, don’t let yourself be defined by sin. Shake it off, repent, and try again. You are not a mess-up—you are His beloved sheep, and He is the Shepherd and Overseer of your soul.
James 4:7 reminds us: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” When guilt whispers lies, resist them. Stand tall in God’s truth. You are forgiven. You are healed. You are free.
