Proverbs 4:25
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”
TL;DR:
You conquer anxiety by accepting Christ’s forgiveness, letting go of the past, and doing the next right thing—one step at a time.
Anxiety grows when you look backward with regret or sideways with temptation. When you dwell on past mistakes or continue in behaviors you know pull you away from God, your heart becomes unsettled. That tension is familiar—it’s part of the human condition. You often find yourself not doing what you want to do and doing the very things you wish you wouldn’t.
God’s instruction is simple and grounding: fix your gaze straight ahead. You cannot change what’s already done. You cannot even change what happened a moment ago. But you can choose what you do next.
Jesus already paid for your forgiveness. When you accept that truth instead of replaying guilt or shame, anxiety loses its grip. You stop spiraling and start moving forward. You shake it off, refocus, and try again.
Today, don’t overthink the entire road ahead. Look straight ahead. Do the next right thing. Then the next. That is how anxiety is conquered—through trust, forgiveness, and forward movement with Christ.
