Psalm 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know full well.”
TL;DR: Your identity is not defined by your mistakes or what others think of you. God’s Word is clear: you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and through Jesus Christ, you are forgiven, restored, and able to shine.
Each of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are wonderful. That means you are wonderful. Yes, we all do foolish, sinful things from time to time. But those moments do not define you.
Your true identity in Christ is not determined by what you do, what you have done, or what people say or think about you. You are forgiven. You are restored. You are set apart. You are able to shine. That is who you are in Jesus Christ, and that is the identity God has given you.
If you are tempted to take on self-doubt, low self-esteem, or self-condemnation, stop right there. That is not the truth. God’s Word is true. You are wonderfully made through the powerful gift of Jesus. Know this full well.
The next time the enemy whispers lies about your worth, come back to Psalm 139. Let it be your anchor. Overcoming negative self-talk with Scripture is not just a feel-good habit. It is a faith practice that keeps your eyes fixed on what God says about you instead of what the world or your own insecurities try to tell you.
His works are wonderful. You are one of those works. Know this full well.
