Luke 14:28-30
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’”

The Christian life requires perseverance. Count the cost, stay the course, and trust Jesus for the strength to finish what He has called you to do.
Have you ever started something and not finished it?
Most of us have.
Starting is exciting. There is energy, enthusiasm, and anticipation. We count the cost before we begin and believe we are ready for the journey ahead. Then the difficulties come. The work becomes harder than expected. Sacrifices are required. Progress feels slow. That is often when the temptation to quit shows up.
Jesus reminds us to count the cost, but He also calls us to persevere.
Anything worthwhile usually requires endurance. Strong marriages require perseverance. Recovery requires perseverance. Faith requires perseverance. Growth requires perseverance.
We have to go through to get to.
The challenges along the way do not mean we are on the wrong path. Often they are simply part of the process. Character is built when we keep going, even when it would be easier to quit.
When I feel like giving up, I remind myself that God is not asking me to finish the race in my own strength. He provides the strength I need for each step.
Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
Today, pray for perseverance no matter how tough the journey becomes. Keep taking the next right step. Keep trusting God. Keep moving forward.
Finish the race.
Walk in the powerful gift of Jesus today.
