Five Minutes Ago Is Just as Over as 50 Years Ago

Hebrews 10:22-23:
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”

TL;DR: The past is over—whether it was five minutes ago or fifty years ago. Let go of guilt, hold onto hope, and move forward in the newness Jesus gives us today!

How often do we dwell on the past?

I’ve done plenty of stupid, sinful things—things I regret. But I’ve also spent way too much time focused on guilt and shame, letting it steal my joy and weigh me down.

But here’s the truth:

Five minutes ago is just as over as 50 years ago.

God gives us a new day, a fresh start—and when we focus on the past, we rob ourselves (and those around us) of the joy and hope Jesus offers.

Hebrews 10:22-23 reminds us:

✔️ Draw near to God with a sincere heart.
✔️ Be cleansed from guilt.
✔️ Hold onto HOPE—because God is faithful!

Today, I choose to focus on God’s goodness.

I want to use the gifts and blessings He’s given me to shine and build others up, not tear myself down.

Jesus gives us today—let’s make the most of it!

Love God.
Love others.
Walk in the purity and newness of His grace.
