Freedom Isn’t Free: Honoring Sacrifice and Living Pure in Heart

Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

TL;DR:

Freedom comes at a cost—both spiritual and national. Jesus laid down His life for our eternal freedom, and countless service members have done the same for our country. Today, honor their sacrifice, pray for our troops, and live with a pure heart that sees God in all things.

Freedom isn’t free. It never has been.

Matthew 5:8 tells us, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
And there’s no greater act of purity and love than to lay down one’s life for another.

That’s exactly what Jesus did for you and me. He gave His life so we could be free—free from guilt, shame, and condemnation. Free to walk as the righteousness of Christ. That freedom wasn’t cheap. It cost Him everything.

Today, we also honor the men and women of our military who have paid the ultimate sacrifice—laying down their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. They didn’t do it for recognition. They did it out of courage, honor, and a heart of service.

Their willingness to serve and sacrifice is a reflection of Christ-like love.
It’s the kind of love that says, “I’ll go first. I’ll stand in the gap. I’ll protect you, even if it costs me everything.”

So today, take a moment to pray for our current service members—that they would be strengthened, protected, and filled with pure, courageous hearts, sustained by the powerful love of Jesus.

And to our veterans:
Thank you.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for laying down your lives—for us. 🙏❤️🇺🇸

Let us live with hearts full of gratitude, courage, and purity—because of your bravery and His grace.
