1 John 4:19
“We love because He first loved us.”
TL;DR:
God’s love is persistent, patient, and unconditional—just like the affection of a puppy. Even when our hearts feel too hard to receive love, He doesn’t stop trying. Let His gentle, relentless love comfort, heal, and restore you today.
Have you ever not wanted to be loved… even by a puppy? 🐶
I have. There was a time when my heart was so hard, so closed off, I couldn’t even receive the love of an affectionate little dog. But that puppy didn’t understand rejection—she just knew how to love. She kept wagging her tail, licking my wounds, and gently nudging her way into my heart. Eventually, I gave in—and I was blessed with nearly 20 years of companionship that I’ll never forget.
God’s love is like that.
We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) And just like that sweet little dog, God doesn’t stop showing up, even when we try to push Him away. He’s always right there—patient, affectionate, and full of grace.
I’ve resisted God too. I’ve drawn my line in the sand and said things like, “If God doesn’t do this or that… then I’m done.” But God doesn’t act out of obligation. He acts out of love—even when it means not giving us what we want. His “no” is often His greatest “yes” to something better.
God is the puppy. 🐾
He’s the One who stays when we’re distant.
The One who comforts us when we’re broken.
The One who gently nudges us to try again, to get back up, and to trust Him.
Let the love of God permeate your life today. Open your heart. Let Him in. You’ll be amazed at the peace, joy, and healing that come when you finally receive what’s been there all along.
🙏❤️😇
