Jude 1:16
“These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.”
TL;DR:
Be careful who influences you. Gossip, pride, and flattery can quietly pull you away from humility and love.
Have you ever felt yourself getting pulled into someone else’s complaining?
It can feel subtle at first. A little grumbling. A little faultfinding. Then comes the flattery—making you feel like you’re on the “inside.” Like you’re part of something elite. Like you see what others don’t.
Be careful.
That dynamic feeds pride. It feeds comparison. It feeds judgment. And before you realize it, you’re participating in the very thing you once noticed.
Scripture reminds you that all of us fall short. None of us stands on higher ground. When you start thinking more highly of yourself than you ought, you drift away from humility.
You are not called to judge.
You are called to love.
Grumbling spreads quickly. So does pride. But so does grace.
If you feel yourself getting sucked into complaining, pause. Redirect the conversation. Speak life. Or quietly step away.
Protect your heart. Guard your humility. Choose love over superiority.
