He Didn’t Bring You This Far to Drop You Now: Trust God’s Ongoing Work in You

Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

TL;DR:

No matter your setbacks, God’s not done with you. He is faithful to finish the good work He started in you. You are not defined by your failures—but by the righteousness of Christ.

One of my dearest friends always says, “God didn’t bring me this far to drop me now!” And wow, do I love that! It’s such a beautiful reminder that God never quits on us.

Even when I feel like I’ve fallen short or circled back to some of my old familiar sins, I remember this truth: God is still working. I’m not defined by my shortcomings—I’m defined by the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

It’s easy to feel like your struggles disqualify you. But often, your greatest struggles become the greatest testimony. That’s the heart of AA and 12-step groups—people helping others because they’ve walked the same road.

So, if you’re in a season of doubt or battling old habits, take heart! God isn’t finished with you. He began a good work in you and promises to carry it through to completion.

Let’s hold tight to that promise today. Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep showing up.
He didn’t bring you this far to drop you now.
