Ephesians 4:2-3:
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
TL;DR: When someone messes up, respond with patience, kindness, and humility. Your peace can help them find their own peace in the situation.
The other day, I played in a Pickleball Tournament, but I wasn’t prepared.
I showed up late.
I didn’t give myself time to get my head in the game.
I had committed to being there early—and I didn’t follow through.
I often squeeze too many things in at the last minute—a habit I know I need to change.
My partner had every reason to be frustrated with me.
But instead of complaining or making me feel bad, he responded with:
- Patience
- Kindness
- Humility
And it wasn’t just an act—he had true peace in the situation.
His response inspired me. It reminded me that we can be a source of peace for others, even when they mess up.
Ephesians 4:2-3 encourages us to:
- Be patient with one another.
- Show humility and kindness.
- Do everything we can to keep unity and peace.
Today, let’s ask ourselves:
- Can we respond to frustration with peace instead of irritation?
- Can we help someone find peace when they mess up?
Let’s be the kind of people who bring peace to every situation—not just for ourselves, but for those around us.
