His Plan Is for Our Good: Trusting God’s Way Over Our Own

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 17:5, 7
“This is what the Lord says: ‘Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. … But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.’”

TL;DR:

When we rely on our own strength, we end up anxious and weary. But when we trust fully in the Lord, we find peace and confidence in His perfect plan—a plan to give us hope and a future.

Today is my last full day at the lake this season. With my broken leg, even simple tasks take me a long time. I’m tempted to be anxious—there’s much to do and so little time to do it. Thankfully, friends are coming to help, and I’m trusting that it will all be okay.

Heading back to Wisconsin brings mixed emotions. I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends, but I’m also anxious. I won’t be able to pick up where I left off. I feel slower, limited, and honestly a bit fragile.

That’s why these verses from Jeremiah speak so deeply to me. God’s plan is bigger and better than my own. He has promised hope, a future, and blessing when we place our confidence in Him. If I rely only on my strength, I’m trusting in man. But when I lean on the Lord, I find peace—even in seasons of transition.

Today, to stay healthy and well in spirit, I choose to let go of anxious thoughts and put my full trust in God. He will make a way, and His way will always be the best way.

Friend, I hope this encourages you today. Apply Jeremiah 29:11 and Jeremiah 17:5–7 to your own life. Don’t trust in man—trust in God’s plan for your good.
