How Gratitude Multiplies What You Have

Luke 9:16-17
“Taking the five loaves and two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”

TL;DR: Gratitude shifts our focus from lack to abundance. When we thank God for what we already have, He multiplies it beyond what we can imagine. Be fully present in gratitude today.

There’s a plaque hanging in my home that reads:
“Being thankful makes what you have more than enough.”

And it’s so true.

In Luke 9, Jesus took what seemed like not enough—five loaves and two fish—and after giving thanks, it became more than enough. In fact, it became overflowing abundance.

That’s the power of thanksgiving. It doesn’t just change our provision; it changes our perspective.

This week I’ve been visiting my beautiful aunts in Arizona, and I’ve been soaking in every moment. But as my return home draws near, I’ve found myself feeling anxious, already grieving the end of something that’s still happening.

And I realized—if I choose to dwell in anxiety, I’ll miss the gift of the present moment.

The two days I have left are still a blessing. But whether I enjoy them or not is up to me.

Gratitude makes all the difference.
Not just for food.
Not just for miracles.
But for everyday moments, relationships, and seasons.

Instead of focusing on what’s ending or what you don’t have, be thankful for what you do.

That’s where the miracle happens.
That’s where God multiplies the joy, the peace, and the contentment.
