Genesis 2:24
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”Luke 11:34–36
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness.
35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.
36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light… it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.”
TL;DR:
Leave the thoughts that pull you into darkness and cleave to the Light of Christ so your whole being can rest in peace.
We usually hear “leave and cleave” in the context of marriage, but the principle applies to your spiritual life too.
You are to leave what harms your soul and cleave to what fills you with light.
Jesus said your eye is the lamp of your body—what you focus on becomes what fills you.
If you constantly feed yourself dark inputs (negative thinking, angry music, unhealthy shows, gossip, fear-filled conversations), that darkness seeps into your heart. You feel the shift—less peace, more anxiety. Less clarity, more confusion.
But when you intentionally turn your eyes toward the things of God—His Word, His presence, His promises—light begins to fill every corner of your soul.
You feel calmer. Clearer. Steadier.
You aren’t meant to live in the shadows.
You’re meant to live full of light.
Today, leave the toxic thoughts, the overthinking, the fear, and anything that drags you backward.
Cleave to the Light—cling to Jesus until His peace fills you and His truth guides you.
Choose the light, and your whole being will shine.
