Let It Be Joy Today: Rejoicing in Every Day the Lord Has Made

Psalm 118:24:
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Proverbs 17:22:
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

TL;DR: Every morning, we have a choice—embrace joy or be weighed down by the day’s troubles. Choose to rejoice, trust in Jesus, and set your heart on gratitude. He has already overcome the world!

Every morning, we have a decision to make. Will we wake up and say, “Good morning, God!” with hearts open to the joy He offers? Or will we sigh and say, “Good God, it’s morning,” already burdened before the day begins?

The way we start our day sets the tone for everything that follows. When we wake up with hopeful expectation, trusting that God is working in our lives, we can find joy—even on the hard days. We can see the Son shining, even when clouds fill the sky.

Yes, every day comes with challenges, but every day also comes with Jesus. That alone gives us a reason to rejoice! Psalm 118:24 reminds us:

“This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, let’s fix our eyes on what is good, true, and worthy of praise. Let’s cultivate gratitude, knowing that this world is temporary and we have an eternity of joy ahead.

John 16:33 reminds us:
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

No matter what difficulties today brings, don’t let them steal the joy you have in Jesus. Keep your eyes on Him—He’s got you!

Let today be a day of joy. Choose to rejoice, be glad, and walk in His peace.
