Colossians 3:8-10
“But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”Colossians 3:12-15
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.”
TL;DR:
Trade your anger, bitterness, and old habits for a new life in Christ—one clothed in compassion, forgiveness, and love. When you let the peace of God rule your heart, you’ll find a path to a more holy, healthy, and happy life. Begin each day with the life-giving truth of God’s Word and experience true spiritual peace.
Take off the old ways, put on the new, and let the peace of Christ rule your heart! That’s the message I needed today—and maybe you do too. Scripture reminds us that fleshly, selfish ways lead to bitterness and inner turmoil. But the path of the Spirit—clothed in humility, kindness, and forgiveness—leads to life and peace.
I’ve lived in both places. When I walk in selfishness and bitterness, my heart feels heavy, angry, and full of resentment. I constantly find myself wishing for a different life, one that looks easier or happier from the outside. But the truth is, when I choose to walk in contentment, trusting that God is in control, my heart softens. Peace settles in.
There’s a visible shift when I let go of old habits and put on the new self in Christ. My face, my heart, my words—they all reflect a holy, healthy, happy spirit. And to stay in that peaceful state, I must renew my mind daily with God’s promises. That means making time to read His Word, to pray with sincerity, and to trust deeply in what He says.
The Bible isn’t just a book of stories—it’s a living source of spiritual nourishment and peace. It’s how I get reset. It’s how I find clarity when the world feels noisy. His Word brings life to my spirit and direction to my days.
Have you read your Bible today? Go ahead. Open it up. Let it breathe life into your day. 😇🙏❤️
