Romans 1:5–6
“Through Him and for His name’s sake, we received grace… to call people… to the obedience that comes from faith. And you also are among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.”
TL;DR:
True obedience flows from faith—not fear. When you trust God’s heart, you desire to follow His ways.
“Obedience that comes from faith.”
That phrase hits deeply.
Left to your own thoughts, compromise can feel small. Harmless. Manageable. You may tell yourself, “Just a little. It’ll be fine.”
But compromise grows.
When you seek God first, that thinking shifts. You remember He is present. You remember He sees. You remember He loves you and is working all things for His glory and your good.
Obedience becomes less about rules and more about relationship.
You don’t obey to earn love.
You obey because you trust His love.
Faith reminds you that He truly knows what is best. Faith assures you that His boundaries protect rather than restrict. Faith produces the desire to please Him—not out of fear, but out of trust.
This discernment brings balance:
You accept what you cannot change.
You find courage to change what you can.
You grow in wisdom to know the difference.
You are saved by grace, not by works. That truth is secure. But walking in obedience brings a better life here on earth—more peace, more clarity, more alignment with who you were created to be.
Thank God for grace.
Thank Him for faith.
Thank Him for the desire to obey—not to prove yourself, but because you belong to Him.
Obedience through faith is freedom, not burden.
Walk in it today.
