From Pity Pot to Planting Pot: Embrace Your God-Given Purpose and Bloom

Psalm 139:13-14
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Philippians 2:4-5
“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”

Philippians 2:10
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

TL;DR:

It’s easy to sink into self-doubt and dwell on past mistakes, but God calls us to more. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, created with unique purpose and God-given talents. Step away from the pity pot, and into the planting pot—sow good works today and watch your spiritual and emotional health bloom.

Yesterday, my verse of the day was Psalm 139:13-14, and I felt a wave of gratitude just wash over me. What a relief and a blessing to be reminded that I am fearfully and wonderfully made! Lately, I had been sliding into the old “pity pot”—getting down on myself, second-guessing my choices, replaying old regrets. Maybe you know that feeling too?

But this morning brought a new light with Philippians 2. What a continuation of hope and truth—it reminded me that I am alive in Christ, not buried under my past! I may feel haunted by the “what ifs” or “I should have…” but God doesn’t dwell there. He invites us into grace, not guilt. Faith, not fear.

Yesterday is over. We don’t live there. Today is our fresh start to do the next best thing. God, in His love, crafted each of us with a specific set of gifts, abilities, and passions. We are His workmanship—on purpose and for a purpose.

So today, I choose not to sit in the pity pot. I’m working in the planting pot—sowing seeds of kindness, purpose, and good works that He’s already laid out for me to walk in. And guess what? Using my God-given talents—even in small, quiet ways—makes me feel healthier, more alive, and filled with peace.

You were made to flourish, friend. So don’t stay stuck in regret. Be inspired to use your gifts—you were created for good things! Plant them. Water them. Watch them grow. And give all the glory to the One who made you.

😇❤️🙏
