Psalm 139: How to Remember You Are Deeply Known and Deeply Loved

Psalm 139:16–17
“Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!”

TL;DR:

God saw every detail of your life before you were born — and He loves you more than you can comprehend.

Psalm 139 always brings me comfort.
It reminds me that God knows everything about me — every moment, every thought, every struggle, and every joy. There is not one second of my life that has surprised Him. He saw this day before it came to be, and He allowed it for His purpose and His glory.

Even when I think things should be different, Psalm 139 steadies me.
If God didn’t stop it, He has a reason for it.
And His reasons flow out of love.

His thoughts toward you are vast — more numerous than the grains of sand.
He sees you. He knows you. He loves you intimately.

Rest in that today.
Live loved — because you truly are.
