Refrain from Anger and Find God’s Peace

Psalm 37:8
“Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.”

TL;DR:
Anger, worry, and fretting destroy your peace. Choosing understanding, prayer, and trust in God restores it.

Refraining from anger and turning from wrath is not weakness—it is wisdom. You don’t have to look far to see how quickly people become passionately angry. When you allow anger to take root, it easily escalates into rage and steals your peace.

You know this firsthand. When anger, fretting, or worry slip into your heart—even in small amounts—they begin to consume your thoughts. They cloud your judgment and pull you away from God’s calm presence. Peace cannot survive where resentment is being fed.

Instead, you are called to pause. Seek first to understand rather than react. Choose not to take offense. Love people where they are, even when you disagree. When frustration rises, stop, pray, and place the situation into God’s very capable hands.

Today, when you feel tempted to be angry with someone or something, you can choose a different path. Step back. Pray. Trust God to handle what you cannot control. Refraining from anger protects your soul and keeps you anchored in His peace.
