1 Corinthians 7:8-9:
“Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
TL;DR: Whether you’re single or married, God is with you! Breakups and rejection are painful, but God never rejects you. Be strong and courageous—His love is greater than anything you’ve lost.
I am a divorced woman.
When my marriage ended, I thought it would be easy to replace my husband. I was convinced I could just move on quickly.
WOW. That was some seriously messed-up thinking.
At the time, I was also a practicing alcoholic—my mind was filled with “stinking thinking.” My focus was on filling the void in my heart rather than seeking healing in Christ.
Today, I have friends walking through breakups, and I know how incredibly painful it is to be rejected by someone you love.
But here’s the truth:
God NEVER rejects us.
He will NEVER leave us.
He loves us beyond our wildest dreams.
Whether you are single or married, divorced or widowed, remember: You are not alone.
Joshua 1:9 commands us to:
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be terrified.
Do not be discouraged.
God is with you wherever you go.
If you’re struggling in your marriage—fight for it in prayer.
If you’re struggling in singleness—embrace God’s plan for this season.
No matter what your relationship status is today, God is your constant. He is with you always—loving, strengthening, and guiding you every step of the way.
Be courageous!
