Philippians 4:13
“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
TL;DR:
God gives you the strength and joy to do the next right thing—even when you don’t feel like it. Choose obedience over emotion and discover His power working in you.
This verse—“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength”—has long been one of my go-to scriptures, especially in the middle of an athletic challenge. Whether I’m running a race or pushing myself through a tough workout, I often recite this verse as motivation.
But lately, I’ve come to realize that this promise of strength applies just as much to everyday responsibilities as it does to endurance events. My mother depends on me, and truthfully, there are times when I just don’t feel up to the task. It’s not always about being in the mood—it’s about doing what’s right because God calls me to it.
Obedience sometimes feels ordinary, even mundane. But when we choose to do what God asks, even when we don’t feel like it, we experience the joy and strength that only He can provide.
So whatever lies before you today—a tough conversation, an obligation, or simply showing up when you’d rather stay home—do it for the Lord. Invite Him into your action. Ask for His strength. And watch how He equips you with endurance and joy to take that next faithful step.
