Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Our Lord never forgets us. God’s unfailing love is one of those truths that is almost impossible to fully wrap your mind around. There are about 8.3 billion people on this earth, and yet God knows each of us personally and intimately. That is truly mind-blowing.
As parents, when our children are hurting, we are hurting right along with them. If you are carrying that weight today, here is something to hold onto: God loves your child even more than you do. He sees them. He has not forgotten them. They are engraved on the palms of His hands — and so are you.
That image from Isaiah is so tender and so intentional. This is not a distant, distracted God. This is a God who remembers you by name, who carries you close, and whose perfect peace is available to you right now. Live in that peace today, trusting that this is true.
