2 Corinthians 1:20-22
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
TL;DR:
God’s promises are certain, not wishful thinking. Through faith in Jesus, we have the guarantee of Heaven—our ultimate hilltop—where valleys no longer exist.
Guaranteeing what is to come!
God has good in store for us. Ultimately, He has Heaven in store—and that’s the greatest promise of all.
Have you ever asked someone if they know they’re going to Heaven, and they said, “I hope so”? The beautiful truth is—we don’t have to just hope. We can know.
If I didn’t have the assurance of my eternal destiny, I couldn’t have true peace. But through faith in Jesus Christ, the One and Only Way, I have that blessed assurance.
Jesus Himself said in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.”
While we’re still here, life is full of hills and valleys. Before my accident, someone asked me how I was doing. I told them, “Right now I’m on a hilltop, and it’s awesome. I’m going to enjoy this hilltop because I know a valley will come—and after that, another hilltop.”
God works all things for His glory and our ultimate good. And one day, our ultimate hilltop will come—when we enter Heaven itself.
In Heaven, there will be no more valleys. Just unending joy, peace, and the presence of our Savior. Praise the Lord!
