2 Timothy 1:7,12
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-control… That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day.”
TL;DR: God has not given you fear—He’s given you power, love, and self-control. In faith, not fear, you can walk through trials with confidence, knowing He will guard what you entrust to Him. Trust Him now and walk triumphantly.
He has not given us a spirit of fear.
How often do we need to remind ourselves of that truth? Fear, worry, and doubt love to creep in at the edges of our thinking—especially when we’re struggling, waiting, or suffering.
But God doesn’t call us to fear.
He calls us to walk in power.
I love to say it: “The powerful gift of Jesus!”
Because that’s exactly what it is.
When I’m walking in faith—not fear—I can feel His power working within my heart, mind, and soul. I find the perseverance to push through the struggle and keep going. I find the courage to trust Him even in my worst-case scenarios. And I find joy in praising Him when I’m overwhelmed by His goodness.
2 Timothy 1:12 reminds us that we can entrust everything to Him—our future, our relationships, our deepest fears—and know He will guard it faithfully.
He didn’t bring you this far just to leave you now.
So today, if fear starts to whisper and worry starts to grow,
fight back with faith.
Remind yourself of the Spirit He gave you—a Spirit of power, of love, and of self-control.
Let’s be bold in the powerful gift of Jesus.
Let’s walk with trust.
Let’s live triumphantly.
