Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” …3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
TL;DR: God gave me a vision of a habit I keep falling back into, like jumping into a mud pit, and then showed me the beauty of living His way instead. Choosing to do life God’s way, with the Holy Spirit’s help, gets a little easier every day. We are made clean through Jesus, and that freedom is worth protecting.
Yesterday, God gave me a vision of a certain behavior of mine. He showed me that every time I do it, it is like jumping into a mud pit. Then He gave me a vision of what it looks like when I do life His way, and how it leads to me being white as snow, shining right next to Him.
Why I keep jumping into the mud is honestly beyond me. But that picture stuck with me, and I think it might speak to you too.
Today, be inspired to do life God’s way. Be kind, generous, patient, and persistent in thankfulness and godliness. The truth is, we cannot live this way on our own. That is not a weakness, it is just reality. The good news is we do not have to do it alone.
Ask the Holy Spirit to direct your path. Read His word and let it be a lamp to your feet. Living by faith daily is not about being perfect. It is about choosing, again and again, to take a step in the right direction instead of the mud.
Each day you make the effort to follow God’s path and resist your own mud bath, it gets a little easier to stay clean. Progress is real, even when it feels slow.
And here is the most important thing to hold onto: we are clean because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not because of our own works. But when we do our best to honor God with our actions and live according to His word, our lives genuinely get better, right here, right now. That is the gift of walking in faith and obedience. Stay out of the mud.
