Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.”
TL;DR: When life feels uncertain, the answer is simpler than you think. Trust God, wait on Him, and follow where He leads. His peace will follow.
Three words. That is really all it comes down to today: trust, wait, follow.
It sounds simple, but if you have ever been in a season where nothing seems clear, you know how hard those three words can actually be. Our instinct is to figure things out on our own, to map out every step, and to move fast. But trusting God with your whole heart asks something different of us. It asks us to let go of our need to understand everything and instead lean into Him.
That is exactly what Proverbs 3:5 is pointing to. Leaning not on your own understanding is not a passive thing. It is an active choice you make, sometimes moment by moment, to acknowledge God in the middle of your uncertainty instead of white-knuckling your way through it.
So today, choose to trust God in difficult times. Choose to wait for His timing, even when waiting feels uncomfortable. Choose to follow God’s path for your life, even when you can only see one step ahead.
When you do, His peace shows up. Not always in the way you expected, but it shows up. And that peace is worth every bit of the trust it took to get there.
